The kits on this page have minor cosmetic defects (see examples in photos). Basically, sometimes a kit or booklet corner gets bent or dented but the kit is otherwise perfectly new and functional.** Instead of discarding these kits or leaving them to gather dust, we're offering them at a steep discount.

**For some 2023 kits, the setup plates were previously used and may have slight discoloration from ink.
The Press
Simple to Use
PRIXEL pieces go into the baseplates and then snap onto the press with magnets. Rubber feet keep the press off the paper until you're ready to print. Clear acrylic lets you see where you're pushing down.
Includes an extra baseplate for a second color or a different design altogether.
Shape Type
Easy to Sort
PRIXEL movable type is made of durable silicone. Four sets of shapes are color coded by type:
- square/rectangle = yellow
- triangle = red
- circle = blue, light blue
- lines = green, light green, dark green

Idea Book
Each PRIXEL kit includes a 20-page, 11"×11" idea book with printing tips, plus sample fonts, patterns, and illustrations.

Differences between 2023 vs 2024 Kits
Packaging
The box art changed a little from 2023 to 2024. The 2024 box art orientation was flipped so that the artwork is right side up when the box is carried by its handle.
Ink Colors
Both use Tsukineko VersaColor mini ink pads.
2023: Scarlet, Cyan, Canary, Fresh Green
2024: Scarlet, Royal Blue, Green, Charcoal
Setup Plates
The 2024 setup plates have smaller magnet "feet" and an extra hole on the setup plate.
Idea Book
The artwork for the 2024 book was completely updated. The most functional change is that the illustration and type examples have the setup and mirrored print on facing pages, so it's a little easier to use when designing. The 2024 book can be downloaded here for free or you can purchase a printed version.
The 2024 kit also has a pocket to hold the idea book. The pocket ensures a tight fit when the kit is closed and ensures pieces won't get jumbled around if the book is accidentally left out.

Also note that in the 2024 kit, certain shape families have new coloring to help differentiate similar pieces. For example, "inverted" circle shapes are light blue, diagonal lines are dark green, and circular lines are light green.

- The effective printing area is 4.75" × 3.125" (12cm × 8cm)
- Setup plates are a 24×16 grid, minus 3 holes in each corner
- The grid is 5mm (about 1/5")
Manufacturing
The packaging, rubber pieces, and plastic press parts are made in Guangdong, China.
The ink pads are made in Japan.
Some assembly and final quality control checks are done in Hudson, NY, USA.

Shipping is free for US orders over $95.
International shipping costs vary by country. Packages are sent via FedEx or UPS and usually arrive in about a week.
