We recommend PRIXEL for kids ages 8 and up, although kids as young as 4 and 5 can use it with help from an adult.

The press relies on pressure from your hands to make a print, so younger kids should be guided toward simpler, smaller designs that require less pressure. The line shapes (green) are also much easier to print, so designs using those shapes should be prioritized for younger kids.

If you have a Provisional Press or other letterpress, we offer a letterpress adapter that makes it easier to pull prints regardless of age. You can download and 3D print the files yourself for free or purchase an adapter.

1–2 students can share a single kit. Depending on the use case, adding a setup plate expansion pack can allow up to 4 people to share a kit (although that’s a bit of a stretch). Generally, for a classroom of 20 students, we’d recommend at least 10 kits.

Yes! Send purchase orders to hello@prixel.com. Be sure to include the quote number. We’ll email an invoice to the purchasing department listed on the PO.

We accept payments by direct bank transfer or credit card. We cannot accept physical checks.

Here’s a download link for our W9. Any additional forms required to set us up as a vendor can be emailed to hello@prixel.com or submitted along with your quote request. We’ll review them and get back to you within 1–2 weeks (but usually much sooner). 

Orders placed via our website are generally sent out the next business day from our warehouse in Albany, NY and arrive within 2–5 business days to addresses in the continental US. But refer to the product pages for the most up-to-date information on shipping times.

For purchase orders, allow up to 5 additional days to verify and process (but usually sooner). 

Yes! We periodically send out gently used PRIXEL kits to educators to test in their classrooms or workshops. These kits may have minor cosmetic damage but are fully functional. This program is free for educators in the United States. No returns are required. Verification is via the honor system ;)
