Summary of Differences between 2023 and 2024 Kits

Packaging

The box art changed a little from 2023 to 2024. The 2024 box art orientation was flipped so that the artwork is right side up when the box is carried by its handle.

Ink Colors

Both use Tsukineko VersaColor mini ink pads.

2023: Scarlet, Cyan, Canary, Fresh Green

2024: Scarlet, Royal Blue, Green, Charcoal

Setup Plates

The 2024 setup plates have smaller magnet "feet" and an extra hole on the setup plate.

Idea Book

The artwork for the 2024 book was completely updated. The most functional change is that the illustration and type examples have the setup and mirrored print on facing pages, so it's a little easier to use when designing. The 2024 book can be downloaded here for free or you can purchase a printed version.

The 2024 kit also has a pocket to hold the idea book. The pocket ensures a tight fit when the kit is closed and ensures pieces won't get jumbled around if the book is accidentally left out.

Also note that in the 2024 kit, certain shape families have new coloring to help differentiate similar pieces. For example, "inverted" circle shapes are light blue, diagonal lines are dark green, and circular lines are light green.
